Give Him One Hour by: Kathy Crouch
This is only intended to be a guide. Use as needed.
(Min. 1)
Be still! Come quietly before the Throne of Grace. Humble yourself and know whom you are about to converse with; the King of Kings, Almighty God, Creator of all things, Master, Savior, Comforter, Friend, Jesus. Be alert and expect God to do great things; big or small. (Ecclesiastes 5:2, Revelation Chapter 4, Psalm 46:10,11)
(Minutes 2, 3, 4, & 5)
Praise Him, thank Him, adore Him, seek Him, acknowledge Him, cry out to Him, commit this hour to Him, confess sin, ask for forgiveness, clean up the heart, open the heart, prepare the ears to hear, expect to hear from Him, allow the Holy Spirit to have His way today! (Psalm 117:1-2, James 4:8, Jeremiah 29:13)
(Minutes 6-10)
Pray for our church family; pastor & family, SS teachers, choir director, choir members, deacons, youth leaders, nursery workers, our children, parents, etc. Pray that God will give them discernment, guidance, compassion, patience, and outreach opportunities. Get personal, be sensitive to the Spirit, be specific as He may lay one or more of these servant’s names on your heart.
(Minutes 11-15)
Thank God for the new Awana initiative being implemented at Crestview. Pray for the leaders, volunteers, children, and parents. Pray that all those involved will seek Godly wisdom, humility, compassion, patience, discernment, commitment, strength, dedication. Pray that there will be spiritual growth as to produce future leaders, SS teachers, pastors and possibly even missionaries from this experience. Pray that souls will be won for Christ and that His Spirit will rain down on this whole endeavor.
(Minutes 16-20)
Pray for our upcoming Bible School. Use the above suggestions to guide you.
(Minutes 21-25)
Pray for those who have physical needs. Call each name as they come to you and ask for God’s perfect will to be done in each situation. Pray for the unsaved, homeless, less fortunate, those with addictions. Ask God for opportunities to minister to or witness to someone in need in the days ahead. Thank Him in advance for sending someone your way.
(Minutes 26-30)
Pray for our Country; community, city, county, state, world leaders. Pray for the President, his cabinet, congress, SCOTUS (Supreme Court), police, military, firemen, DOJ, school boards, schools, teachers. As we are experiencing Spiritual warfare all around us, ask God to protect us should He choose to leave us here a while longer, and to shine that light that He called out of darkness on all of the fraud, lies, deception, evil, corruption and darkness that we are experiencing now. Pray for a great awakening of His people and for a revival like this country has never seen before. Pray even so come Lord Jesus!
(Minutes 31-35)
Pray for the persecuted church around the world. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Lift up missionaries that are at home and abroad. Ask God to protect them and to give them resources, strength to endure, freedom to gather, boldness, and faith filled with hope from the Holy Spirit. Pray for what is happening at our southern border and for the senseless conflicts happening at this time. Ask God to be with and protect those who are working tirelessly to address these issues.
(Minutes 36-45)
Stop praying! Use this time to listen. What has God said to you as you have lifted your voice up in prayer?
Take this time to read a devotion, read scripture, quote scripture, recite the Lord’s prayer, say the 23rd Psalm, knowthat He is God. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you at this time. Praise Him for this time together.
(Minutes 46-50)
Pray for your family, friends, your boss, co-workers, enemies, neighbors and anyone else who comes to mind during this time.
(Minutes 51-55)
Pray for yourself. Reflect again on your heart. Confess sin, ask God for clear direction as to what He has planned for you in the days ahead. What is your purpose? How can you grow? Seek Godly wisdom and new opportunities to further His Kingdom. Pray for the desire to meet with Him on a daily basis and for ears to hear what He is saying to you during that time.
(Minutes 56-60)
Tie up loose ends. What did you forget to mention? Thank God for the hour. Thank Him and praise Him for meeting with you. Praise Him for His son Jesus who went to the cross, died and was buried, rose on the third day, ascended to Heaven and is seated at His right-hand interceding for all of us when we pray! Hallelujah!! Thank Him for what He is going to do at Crestview Baptist Church in the coming days.
I love having this guide. So helpful in staying on track.
