This morning in my prayer and meditation time, I prayed Psalms 6 and meditated on mainly the first division. (vv 1-3) I began to think of how things are different for us today as believers verses David who wrote this Psalm. We who are believers by way of the Gospel and the Cross of Jesus doesn’t necessarily have an adversary to chasten us as much as we have the Holy Spirit to convict us when we sin. If we realize that we have grieved the Holy Spirit by committing some sin then we must ACT: Acknowledge, Confess, and Turn (Repent) away from it. This should be done immediately. If not, then we move from convicting to chastening. If we reach a point of chastening then that means we are stubborn. So let us thank God that we have an advocate and pray that we would have a “Sensitivity to sin” that we may be able to “exercise a good conscience before God and man.” (Acts 24:16) I would love for you to share your thoughts on this Psalm. Pastor Robby
